This Mariners Compass workshop has been redesigned to teach beginner foundation piecing as well as build on the skills of those who are comfortable with foundation piecing. There are two patterns from which to choose and the small class size lends itself well to close attention to each of the participants. You may not complete all the templates before the end of the day but you will leave with the skills required to complete the process at home.

Your Sewing Machine. *Please check it before you come to ensure it is in good working order. This is a straight stitch only class so a basic machine will be fine.
Size 14 universal needle
Scissors and usual sewing supplies
Rotary Cutter
Small Quilting Ruler 6 or 12 inch works fine. Bring what you have and we will work with it as its not used a lot in this workshop.
Small Cutting Board -12 inch works great
12 inch Add-a-Quarter ruler (Optional but very desirable)
Flat head pins
Cotton thread to blend, (Beige or grey usually works well)
Fill two bobbins before the workshop please *
You can do a beginner paper piecing or the intermediate paper piecing, both are offered at this event and patterns for both are included in class fee.
In the class you will learn the 60 degree ruler and 45 degree binding.
Bring your walking foot to quilt your topper as you design, then bind your topper learning how to bind 45 degree angles.
